Biopsychosocial Risk Assessment
Empatha’s assessment and proprietary algorithms lead to better worker engagement and optimized treatment pathways.
12-20% of claims are high risk/high cost
30-40% of delayed recovery is due to psychosocial risk factors
90% accuracy in predicting problematic cases
Recovery CM+ and Recovery PT+
Empatha has developed Recovery CM+ and Recovery PT+, an interactive screening and assessment platform for identifying a psychosocial risk profile, functional abilities, and work disabilities. Recovery+ is designed to be utilized by outside case managers and health care providers. Empatha also uses the system internally to screen, assess and gauge clinical and return to work progress as well as compile clinical and return to work outcomes. It is an integral tool for managing patients, particularly those with musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) and psychological conditions encountered in claims systems. The system provides a comprehensive range of validated, clinically meaningful, and pragmatic assessments across key physical and psychosocial domains.
Multidimensional Task Ability Profile (MTAP)
‘Modern performance-integrated self-report measures, such as the MTAP, have the potential to provide information about functional capacity that is sufficiently useful to confirm status and help guide treatment algorithms.’ — ODG Guidelines
We combine our clinical data with existing claims analytics resulting in optimized outcomes.
Functional Assessment - Work Capacity, Functional Improvement and ADLs Psychosocial Risk Factors - Catastrophic Thinking, Perceived Injustice, Fear Avoidance and Disability Beliefs
Recovery Expectations – RTW and Recovery Expectations
1 Worker-centric Screening Assessment (English and Spanish) 5 to 15 minutes via web access MTAP functional/workability, psychosocial, RTW expectations
2 Data and Improved Evidence-based Decisions Claims analytics and data driven evidence-based clinical decisions leading to appropriate care pathways Serial testing as indicated to measure functional improvement with treatment Targeted approaches to reduce psychosocial risk factors
3 Positive Clinical and Rehabilitation Outcomes Improved RTW and Recovery Outcomes Reduced risk for costly prolonged disability and opioid abuse Cost savings
Improved case management strategies
- Whole person approach -Identifies high risk/high cost cases that may - require specialized treatment programs
- Enhanced worker motivation and client centered approach
- High utility to physicians, employers, case managers, and insurers
- Low cost assessment measures
